“f.rock 05 was definitely the highlight of my year!”

Posted in Media Releases on March 13, 2008 by frockfashion

“f.rock05 was definitely the highlight of my year! The people, the creativity, the communication, the inspiration, and the perspiration, particularly on VIP night, made the whole experience fan-frocking-tastic! Watching the f.rock flower grow from a few designers and volunteers haphazardly putting on a little fashion parade to a full on sold out professional fashion show brought a great sense of joy and achievement to all those involved!

For me personally it gave me the confidence to start up my own marketing and events business in regional Queensland, where I now live. Cool Solutions for Business & Events was conceived through f.rock05 and now with such a solid foundation is taking the Sunshine and Fraser coasts by storm! f.rock was always about fun and excitement but more importantly it’s also about empowerment! Long live f.rock!”

JASON CHETCUTI F.ROCKS UP aug 05

MEDIA RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE USE
AUGUST 2005

JASON CHETCUTI F.ROCKS UP
Rock ‘n’ Roll designer to showcase pieces at Northern Beaches fashion parade

Event organisers for F.ROCK today announced that young punk designer Jason Chetcuti is throwing his support behind the hot new fashion parade event happening in September, and with Chetcuti now on board it’s expected to really fffffff-rock the house.

Formed as part of the Manly Arts Festival, F.ROCK is being held over two nights, 15 and 16 September at Stage One, The Steyne on Manly Corso, and will showcase 16 young local fashion designers ranging from high fashion, vintage couture and   streetwear to hats, swimwear and jewellery. Chetcuti will now also be featured within the parade.

Renowned for his flamboyant style and use of internationally sourced vintage inspired fibres, Chetcuti is quickly rising up the ranks of the fashion world. The energetic 25 year-old turned down an internship at Christian Dior to concentrate on his designs and with a boutique store already on Sydney’s Crown Street and a recent appearance on SBS’s Fashionista it won’t be long before he’s a household name.

“It’s great to see an initiative like F.ROCK enabling young and seriously talented designers to showcase their work, especially in an area not known for fashion,” says Chetcuti. “It’s going to blow everyone away!”

According to Helen Sattler, F.ROCK founder and fashion designer for vintage couture label Boutio, it’s time to create an awareness of the growing Northern Beaches fashion industry.

“Despite brands such as Tsubi and One Teaspoon starting out on the Northern Beaches, a lot of people don’t associate the area with fashion like they do Bondi and other beach suburbs. F.ROCK is going to break down those misconceptions by thrusting some hot new talent under the spotlight and we plan to make it an annual event so that more up-and-coming local designers can be exposed,” says Sattler.

Other labels being launched at F.ROCK include Clintoncharlie by 88 ounces (high women’s fashion), my-ti (stylish visor hats), Kelly Love (casual/glam women’s wear), Seawolfe (swimwear), Kornerd (men’s streetwear), Pjinc (evening lingerie), Artsu (streetwear), Suzy O’Rourke (millinery), Don’t Go Naked (glam women’s wear), Andesn Designs (streetwear), Nikki Angicas (women’s wear), Natalie James Designs (women’s wear), Pippa May (women’s wear), Sarah Wood Designs (classy evening/day wear) and Phoebe Jane Jewellery Designs (jewellery).

ARE YOU READY TO F.ROCK?!
Volunteers needed for Northern Beaches fashion launch

Hot new fashion parade event F.ROCK is taking over the Northern Beaches in September and the search is on for creative and inspired people to assist as volunteers.

Formed as part of the Manly Arts Festival, the star-studded spectacle will be held over several nights at Stage One, The Steyne in Manly, and will showcase 16 local fashion designers ranging from swim wear and vintage couture to hats, street-wear and jewellry.

“F.ROCK is the first fashion parade of its kind for the Northern Beaches and is going to be the event to put local designers on the map. There’s a lot of great talent in the area and we feel it’s time to create an awareness of the growing Northern Beaches fashion industry and show the rest of Sydney what we can do,” says Helen Sattler, F.ROCK founder and fashion designer for local vintage couture label Boutio.

Posted in Media Releases on March 13, 2008 by frockfashion

On behalf of Madame Joan BEAUMONT & myself, I would like to convey our thoughts after viewing the f.rock Fashion Extravaganza, on Friday Night.
Firstly, thank you in allowing my mum to be seated in the VIP section (86yrs) considering her age, she is still greatly astute & “switched-on’ to modern fashion trends.
We both thought it was a great night and professionally organized & presented.
The Range of innovative designs was up to European catwalk standards & added a breath of fresh vitality to the fashion scene! Bravo to you Helen Sattler & the Crew for staging a Classy & Sassy Event!
Cassidy Hair Stylists did a fabulous creative job on the models as Well.
